Online shop software
Ricky.:
If you know drupal then try opencart module, it will allow you to customize things without messing much into coding. You may try opencart too, its simple and clean coded (but documentation is not so great).
Arantor:
@Kindred: I found it incredibly cumbersome and hard to use personally ;)
@Ricky: I think that's the equivalent of building an entire mansion (not just a small house) just to have somewhere to hang a coat... just a touch overkill.

I've been looking at Zen Cart - does anyone have an opinion on this? Are there any better ones I should know about?
Thank you :)

Sabrinova how many products are we talking about? I
I would maybe also look at some online software as a service shop systems that might work out the best.

Thanks for the replies :) We're talking decorated celebration cakes and probably also some bakery supplies, so I need something that's functional for placing online orders but, probably most importantly, a showcase for her best work. It doesn't need to integrate with anything else as my sis has no interest in blogging with it or anything like that. In fact she has no interest in the technical side at all, which is why she was all set to let a friend put her on a free host. Ok, so I'm only on Go Daddy, but it has to be better than a free effort ::) And being the geek of the family, I'm keen to have a go at it myself ;)

well, here's some data:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_free_and_open_source_eCommerce_software
http://www.webappers.com/2010/07/09/15-best-free-open-source-ecommerce-platforms/
looks like Magento ranks number one, according to the second link...
