So, why are Google pushing Chrome so much?

<< < (2/6) > >>

Arantor:
Considering how much of Google's business relies on ads, it's got to be. Better targeted ads = better money per ad.

mashby:
I consider a browser like a car. They all pretty much do the same thing, but certainly have other features. And this is just my opinion:
Firefox=Lamborghini
IE=Nova

Use the one(s) you like, screw the rest.

Labradoodle-360:
Using the same car analogy, there is still a better car. Also depends on what you're doing, but in this case IE isn't good for anything.

Until you get into an enterprise with thousands of desktops and you want to apply a central policy to all of them, including managing updates to ensure your internal systems don't break. Try doing that with FF or Chrome.

K@:
Ah, there, you see?

(This is veering off-topic, but who cares?)

Firefox...

I hate the damned thing, with a PASSION.

Why? It updates every day (Well, it seems to) and "WHAP!" No extensions, coz they need to be updated, too.

So, if I want to do something with Firefox, I use PaleMoon (Portable), instead. (It's quicker, too).

I just found Chrome too fiddly and restricting. It browses, for sure. But, to me, it feels like a "Boy-racer" thing, to use that "Cars" analogy, again.

Opera has IRC, Mail and all that ****** built-in. So, no need to install other stuff.

Plus, of course, I suffer from what everybody else does, in this respect... I can use Opera in my sleep, because I know it so well. If I want to change something, I know exactly how to change it, even if it means "Banging the metal", as it were.

It upgrades? It works. No waiting for extension updates, coz I don't need any extensions to get it to do what I want it to.

The other thing about Firefox is that it seems that when I do a malware scan, the ONLY warnings I ever get are from cookies in Firefox.

I NEVER get that, with Opera, and I browse the same dubious sites, with both.
