New theme colors not showing up

This to some may seem to be a really stupid problem but here goes.

I just put up a forum and want to use a dark theme. So I got the new "synthetic" theme(s).

I uploaded them and did the install,,,

But alas,, no colors.

What am I doing wrong here?

I even tried the "black n black" theme with no results

The obvious question, that springs to mind, is "Are the themes compatible with the version of SMF that you're using?".

The second question, did you activate the theme after you installed it ?
