SMFone
« on: July 23, 2006, 12:39:52 PM »
Link to the theme

SMFone was originally created by A.M.A (retired Lead Graphic Designer), and ported to SMF 1.1 by Aäron. It should work on all versions of the 1.1 branch. However, it will NOT work on SMF 1.0.x and SMF 2.0!

Features:
  • new board index layout (*)
  • tabbed info center on board index
  • new message index layout (*)
  • new topic layout (*)
  • new calendar layout (*)

(*) = If you prefer the default layout(s), you can replace the templates in question with their Babylon theme equivalents.

This theme is available in four colour variations:
  • blue
  • green
  • grey
  • red

The following localised buttons are available:
  • Chinese (Traditional) by CapriSkye
  • Dutch by Burpee
  • English by A.M.A (included in main packages)
  • German by Carsten
  • Greek by Psiloman
  • Japanese by Koni
  • Spanish by A.M.A
  • Turkish by Forsakenlad

TinyPortal
If you want to use the theme in combination with TinyPortal: delete SMFone's index.template.php, and rename index.tp.template.php to index.template.php. TinyPortal should be working without problems in SMFone then.

Just like I've said in the review, I want to congratulate you for the EXCELLENT theme you've built. Clean, modern, bright, with nice buttons and icons and the ability to easily change the top logo and still fit with the template. 8)

The best so far in my opinion!

Would be great if you could build in colour switching (borrow some code off bloc or someone :P)

rc3?     :D

I downloaded it, modified it slightly and installed it on my joomla/SMF-site (orstio bridge): http://www.inventorforum.net/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=146 .

I'm very happy with the result. (Except for some graphic problems in the statistics/users online when viewing wrapped. This may be due to css-crash with the joomla template.)

Thanks for maintaining this great theme!

Thanks, but I have to say that I merely did the conversion to SMF 1.1, A.M.A created the theme, like I stated on the theme page. :)

Good idea, I might do that in a next version! :)

Are you sure no ad blocker is interfering? Try a filename different than "banner" (or something like that).

Any chance that you could possibly make a dark, or black variation of this theme. Love it!

I like the port of the theme, works well with my overall site colors and looks clean.

However I need some help with getting rid of the "news box" on the right hand side. It makes my search field all messed up and I would prefer to only use the news fader box. As you might guess I am not very good at editing the code, at least on SMF.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,  :D My site is wrapped in a Joomla templet and despite my efforts, I just cant get it right.

Open index.template.php and find:
Code: [Select]
<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%">
  <tr>
    <td width="0%"><img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/re_b_top1.gif" alt="" /></td>
    <td width="100%" style="background-image: url(', $settings['images_url'], '/re_b_top2.gif);"><img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/', $context['user']['language'], '/newsbox.gif" alt="" /></td>
    <td width="0%"><img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/re_b_top3.gif" alt="" /></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td width="0%" style="background-image: url(', $settings['images_url'], '/re_b_mid1.gif);"></td>
    <td width="100%" style="background-color: #D5D5D5;">';
// Show a random news item? (or you could pick one from news_lines...)
if (!empty($settings['enable_news']))
echo '
    <div style="height: 50px; overflow: auto; padding: 5px;" class="smalltext">', $context['random_news_line'], '</div>';

echo '
</td>
    <td width="0%" style="background-image: url(', $settings['images_url'], '/re_b_mid2.gif);"></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td width="0%"><img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/re_b_bot1.gif" alt="" /></td>
    <td width="100%" style="background-image: url(', $settings['images_url'], '/re_b_bot2.gif);"></td>
    <td width="0%"><img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/re_b_bot3.gif" alt="" /></td>
  </tr>
</table>
And remove it. That'll do.

TinyPortal version?

There is already TinyPortal version on the theme page? ;)

Hi Aaron,

Ran into a few problems with your theme and hope you can fix them up because it's excellent.

When viewing a topic example:
hxxp:www.dawgclan.net/forums/index.php/topic,2.0.html [nonactive]

Running it through w3's HTML validator shows:
Error Line 291 column 6: end tag for element "form" which is not open.
</form>

Also when I tried to use the edit button above the IP address, I received the following error shown in the screenshot:
hxxp:www.dawgclan.net/images/errors/forum_error.jpg [nonactive]

Can you please fix these up, thanks and nice job on the theme.

Regards,
Jason

Remove Display.template.php from the SMFone directory.
