If that's true, try adding:

font-weight: bold

To the index.css file, which is in the theme's "css" directory.

Find the comment:

/* Styles for the message (topic) index.

in that file and add "font-weight: bold", on a line of it's own,

{
   border-collapse: collapse;
   margin: 2px 0;
HERE ->
}

Please, keep a backup of that file, because I'm not 100% sure that that'll work.
