1.1.7 --> 2.0b4 Conversion?
KahneFan:
Is there one available? I would like to convert a 1.1.7 board I have to 2.0b4, is there a conversion available yet, or not until 2.0 is stable? If there is, a link would be great. If not, should I just build a 2.0b4 board and wait until it is available? I just don't want to build a 2.0b4 board and then for some reason a mod I install isn't compatible. I'd rather convert, then install mods. Any help is appreciated.

you can use the large upgrade package from our downloads page
Upgrade SMF

It's stable enough, but it isn't recommended to be used on a production website.
Likewise, to convert your SMF install you'd follow the similar guidelines that are given in the Online Manual.

Is there a projected date for a production version? With that said, I see many people using the 2.0b4 version, so I'm guessing it may be OK to use as is?
Also, with the upgrade, I will be moving my forum to a sub-folder for the upgrade so that I can use my root directory for a web front. Is there a way for me to install 2.0 into a sub-folder and the transfer members/posts/info, or should I just make a ghost version in the sub-folder; upgrade the ghost; test the ghost and then use it as the main version when it's ready?

no release date yet. 2.0 is Beta and has still a lot of bugs (which may be solved in the future). so an upgreade means you must live with these bugs for a while..
Moving the forum to a different (sub-)folder is easy with repair_settings.php
What is repair_settings.php?
