That's not what you were asked to confirm that it was. You want READ-WRITE enabled (both). If you are on a Linux server, it might be permissions of 755, 775, or even (last resort) 777. It needs to have a PHP program able to read (and write) it, whatever PHP is running as (as owner, in your group, or as a random user).

Why are we helping out with a WordPress problem? Don't they have their own support forum?
