Time between posting new topics

(1/2) > >>

oOTrentOo:
Hey, I was wondering if anyone could help me make it so a user would have to wait 5 minutes until they can make another topic.
Any help is appreciated.

K@:
There's a "Time required between posts from the same IP" thing, which is set in Admin>Posts and topics.

But, that affects all posts, not just topics.

If you post in "MOD REQUESTS", you might just get lucky.

oOTrentOo:
Ah ha! That's the board I was looking for.
Thanks.

K@:
No sweat!

I have to say, though, if I was a member of a forum that made me wait five minutes between topics, I'd probably leave.

But, maybe you have unusual circumstances. So... ;)

Good luck, with that!

MrPhil:
It's rare to find someone with a legitimate need to post more often than every 3 to 5 minutes (except perhaps, moderators). Most people posting that quickly are either spammers or empty-headed twits flapping their jaws to show how brilliant they are and building up their post count (and leaving a long trail of pointless "I agree!" posts behind them). It takes time to read a topic, understand it, formulate a useful response, and check the spelling and grammar; so I don't think 3 to 5 minutes is a bad wait, even across topics. For those who have a real need to post often (trusted support team members, moderators, etc.), they could be in their own group which (mod needed?) is exempt from the wait period for posts and PMs.
