Getting SMF user information?

I would like to be able to allow people to login to their Forum account from the main site, as well as access their membership information.

I would prefer to work in Python if possible, but I would imagine SMF might use php sessions?

Also, I'm looking through the docs now and I don't have a SSI.php... I'm in version 2.02 and I had to move the Forum at one point, though I copied all files exactly..

I found the file on the old hosting service. Now I'm wondering if any other files didn't survive the transfer. Is there a way to check?

You could go to Maintenance --> Forum Maintenance --> "Check all files against current versions" which might give you an indication.
