Check box for members lists...
(1/1)
Brugarr:
Could you please add a check box to allow administrators to select entire groups of accounts to delete at a single time? My boards are being hammered every day by adbots. I am in a gaming guild, and have maybe 50 members tops total that should be in my lists. On Friday last week it showed that I had 42,000 members. Today (Monday), I have 44,000 members. Can you please give us some way to mass delete accounts? As it is now, I have to go through 3 different clicks to delete a single account, and then it takes me back to the entire start of the members list, rather than to where I was working. Currently, just to keep my board clean of ads, I have had to turn off all posting to public forums, other than ranks that are approved to do so.
If I am missing something, please let me know how I can keep these adbots off my forums, or at least get rid of all those non-member accounts without spending a year clicking single accounts slower than what the bots can make them at.

The member list in the admin section does have multi-selection options so you can delete more than one account at a time.
Also, there are a lot of options to prevent automated registrations. For instance, SMF 2 has verification questions. If you set them up well, they can be over 90% effective just by themselves. Don't ask general questions (What color is the sky?), but ask only questions that people who should have access would know (Who is the leader of the clan?).
If those don't work, or you're still running SMF 1.1, there are some tools in the anti-spam modifications category you can use.
