ClamAV adn SMF

If I was to run a scan with ClamAV and set the cmmand to quarantine files, if any were infected, lets say several, would it impact on SMF?  Would it move the files elsewhere and render the forum not working or would it clean the files? 

Have found 8 infected files on one of my sites from a standard scan but dont want to use the quarantine/move files incase it impacts

Depends on the files.

If it's the PHP files, moving them will break SMF. If it's image files, it won't do anything. If it's attachments or avatars, it'll just mean those files won't be downloadable again.

and if you can list the files we can even tell you if they're real SMF files or not

Thanks chaps, how can I un the job so it will list the infected files  I am unsure of the command.
