Porting AIML Alicebot mod to SMF?

How difficult would it be to port the IPB mod to SMF as a package? It has a MySQL backend after all. (and with IPB works in PHP) I know very little about this sort of thing though. Just thought it would be sort of interesting.

I would be worried about licensing issues.  The current mod author must be happy with his mod being ported.

Included in the zip file of the AIML Alicebot was a copy of the GPL, so I guess it wouldn't be too much of a problem. :D
