SMF Support > Install and Upgrade Help
Clean install 2.0.2 from 1.1.16
emanuele:
As Elmacik suggested, take the Large upgrade and it will overwrite most of the files, if you want to be even more sure, you can delete the directories Thems and Sourced before upload the files present in the large upgrade (of course first thing backup everything, just in case ;)).
See if the Upgrading SMF document is of any help (and if not, feel free to drop your comments in the SMF Documentation Help board ;)).
Boatbuilder:
Emanuelle, what about: I have tried the SMF 2 large upgrade but it is saying Settings_bak.php needs to have permissions changed, but there is no such file in my directory or in the large upgrade package. This seems to be preventing me from starting the upgrade.
Boatbuilder:
I created an empty file named Settings_bak.php, uploaded it, and the installation progressed smoothly! I am now up and running again!.
emanuele:
Glad it worked! :)
Customer service mode ON: did you read the guide on the wiki? How did you find it? Is there anything that can be improved?
Thanks! :D
