Merge two Maintenance Mode pages

(1/3) > >>

Yoshi:
I suggest a merge of
http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/How_to_put_the_forum_in_maintenance_mode_and_back
and
http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Maintenance_Mode

Might be best just to dump that one?

emanuele:
The correct one is http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Maintenance_mode

The first one is a FAQ, the second one belongs to the category SMF Terminology (the SMF Terminology category should include short descriptions of terms usually used only by SMF)
...maybe link one from the other?

Woops I just dumped that right out the top of my head. emanuele is right.

@emanuele: Yeah, you can link them both, place a link to the changement of Settings.php at the settings part in Maintenance_mode, perhaps?

AngelinaBelle:
Yoshi.  Welcome to the wiki. Be bold.  Here's the challenge.  Do something sensible.  Follow the documentation guidelines.  Discuss it AFTERWARDS.
Thanks EVER so much.

A good thing to do, and something you can do yourself, is either
* Delete http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Maintenance_Mode  That article title breaks the documentation guidelines
* put in a redirect -- #REDIRECT Maintenance mode

Oh for goodness sake.  Can someone tell me why [nobbc] does not work, and why the contents of the "unparsed" nobbc text were replaced by the [.[. wiki mod we are running here?

#REDIRECT [.[.Maintenance mode.].]

Only , without the dots
