Installing, and nearly everything I do gives me a blank screen

I just finished installing it, and when I go to the index, it gives a blank screen. Typed it in manually, and it worked. Same thing happened in changing my profile,and nothing has been changed.

What is causing this?

Who are you hosted by? I recently had this same issue and for me it was an issue with my host but once I explained the problem they corrected it, there was a function that SMF calls to that was banned on their servers.

Other than that could be that some of your files have the wrong permissions set.

Sounds like you might need to get your host to disable mod_security.

To save future hassles, you can ask them to give you full ownership (CHOWN) of the files on your site, too.
