Why not Content is God?

Because that would, understandably, offend people who have strong religious convictions.

No, it's not mainly because it offends people; it's because content is ruled; and not the ruler like what God is.

Veterans already know what it takes to get a site running and get it popular... Unique content that's regularly updated with a targeted group.

But you are looking down at them. The way you came out with 'it's for newbies' is a statement to the effect that you think it's beneath you, and that by extension the people who still trot that mantra out are beneath you. Substitute 'babies' for 'newbies' and you get the same meaning, like an older brother who looks at what his younger sibling does and decries it as 'it's for babies'.

There are still too many people who think that running a forum isn't about content and it's them that need guidance. The people who already know that content is king also know the more complex differentiation that you stated; you're not wrong there.

You were a newbie once, same as the rest of us. Imagine how you might feel if you read that as a newbie, you might feel insulted.

I'm not the same person I used to be. I won't stand for half the crap I used to and I'm sick of the number of people out there who seem to think that they're owed something without putting any work/effort/money/insert-other in of their own. I would also note that having since split up with my partner after almost ten years, I wouldn't say that I'm bitter exactly, but more that I have little to counterpoint the cynicism in my life.

I don't see where this statement is "looking down at people" so much, but different tolerance levels apply here perhaps. One might suspect anyone writing as many posts as Arantor has, one might have developed a tougher skin.. Or maybe not.

Content is king though, no doubt about that. (as in "content is most important and thus should have the greatest to say, like the kings/queens of old". Most kings nowadays doesn't rule much lmao).

Content is king, I agree.
All I'm saying is that people who have been around a bit know the reason why content is king.

Also, you are inferring that I am looking down on those who I call newbies but I'm not.  Tbh you don't really know how my brain functions.. but then again I don't know how yours work either.. I guess that's why you seem to have much less tolerence than others.

What you might see as looking down upon, others might see as just a normal post that doesn't need much attention.

Indeed, I like the large can of spam pic you placed in the other topic.   
Unfortunately, unless it is a rare human spammer, the bots never see us playing with them.  I still like to mess with the few that do get in my site once in a while.

Neither of my 2 forums have ever had spam.

One is over a year old.

I can't remember for sure, but I have only had 3 or 4 in the last couple of years. They were humans that got past the registration, and then posted about a week later.  Now my bot traps are a different story though.  Somewhere in the area of 140,000 of them in the last year.
