is this a bug
« on: March 31, 2012, 04:36:20 PM »
There is no word wrap when posting on my board. My typing falls off of the right side of the screen. I'm using the Core Theme (slightly modified) when I try and post the right hand side of the posting window is missing and my text disappears off the page.

The post is fine when it is done, but I can't see the characters on the very right edge as I am typing them.

Can you point me to a line in one of the scripts to repair this problem?

I have edited these lines as suggested by another user here in index.css.

#quickReplyOptions form textarea
{
    height: 100px;
    width: 635px;
    max-width: 95%;
    min-width: 95%;
    margin: 0.25em 0 1em 0;
}

Dan, it's essential that you provide information in order for us to help you. First, we have no idea which version you are using of SMF. You've provided no link so we can look at the problem.  Is it a specific browser that does this? Does it do it on any other browser? What version of the browser? If it happens on the core theme, does it happen on other themes?

I think it's the usual problem after the upgrade from RC5 to final.
That should work:

Sorry. I tried putting up a link but this forum wouldn't allow it. I'm using 2.02. I'm using PCLINUXOS FIREFOX 9.0.1

I'll try emanuele's fix and report back.

Thanks emanuele for the link.

Unfortunately that fix doesn't work for me because I'm using the CORE theme. There is NO editor.css file in it.

That is because Core uses the editor.css present in Curve (default). Change that one, empty your browser cache and it will work. ;)

In the Curve Theme (the same as you are using here) everything was already fixed and set up properly, but in CORE I'm still having a problem. Core must be looking for editor.css FIRST right? Where is the code in Core looking for editor.css or where could I insert it. Of course I could fix this problem by just using Curve instead, but I already set up a number of personal things in Core.

I even inserted those lines into index.css but it still made no difference.

Reset cache? I'm not sure if I did that right.

I'd have to check but from memory it's in one of the Sources files, most likely Post.php but probably not. If the call for default_theme_url there was replaced with theme_url then you could give Core its own copy of editor.css and edit that to suit, which should fix your problem.

TBH no theme should really be calling css files from default. All themes should call their own copies.
