Which Final Fantasy release you like the most?

I am a die-hard fan of Final Fantasy!!
I discovered this Great game after I read a review about FF7 which got %100 !! :D (I know the review is exegrating)
so I decided to buy it,, and I was posossed by the game ..
it was my first RPG ...
now I played it up to FF10 but I did not play ,and not planing to, 10-2 because I think it's boring to play with the same chars in the same world and same places!! I tried playing it but I just couldn't complete !!
also I haven't played FF11 because the connection speed sux or I should pay alot to get a faster one ..
I am currently waiting for FF12 ...

anyway, I like FF9 the most!! some people think it's the worst one, but playing this one is really enjoyable, maybe because its music were the best or the storyline was interesting! dunno .. :D

so which one you like the most and how did you discover FF series?

final fantasy 3 for nintendo, or as we know it here for super nintendo?

for japanese <--> english (respectively)
1 <-- > 1
2 <--> no equivalent
3 <--> no equivalent
4 <--> 2
5 <--> no equivalent
6 <--> 3
7,8,9,10,10-2,11 all follow same numbering system in japanese and english.  we missed out on 3 and 5 japanese which were both awesome titles.  I voted for 6 which is the japanese equivalent of 3 (the one with Terra as the leading character).  That's my FAVORITE final fantasy, and the one i voted for :D.
