Guide to adding settings to SMF 1 modification.

I am sure there used to be a guide somewhere about adding settings to an SMF 1 mod, but I can't find it.  I found the SMF 2 one, but nothing else.

Need things like adding the settings to database, $txt strings and building the actual page where an end user can change the settings.  I'm pretty sure it told you how to do the tooltips as well.

Is there still something about that explains this kind of thing or perhaps someone has a book mark or something to some useful links ?

Then again maybe I am imagining things ;)

To be honest, I usually started from finding a similar mod (eg one that adds that capability) and then strip everything out of it and modify it as needed
