Email verification not being sent every 5 registrations

(1/4) > >>

stylusss:
I'm finding that every 4 or 5 registrations, a verification email is not being sent to the person registration. Is there something being timed out on my website that is causing this to happen? What could be the situation?

Looking:
That may be server side, you may need to check your EXIM logs if you are running your own hosting but if you are on shared hosting then it might be that you are maxing out an hourly quota.

nightbre:
Have you set up any bans maybe that block certain providers or from IP ranges? How are you sure the bounced mails are genuine user registrations ? Not meaning to sound bad but its possible mods or anti spam measures are blocking some.

Do they work if you resend them manually ? Might be an idea to limit the post speed (in your mail settings)and see if that helps if non of the above and Looking's suggestions dont help.

Yes, they are genuine because I have a thread for designated for guests who are writing that they are having trouble registering, saying that the registration is going through (the thank you message is showing up), but they are not receiving the actual email.

If I activate them manually, they are registered fine. Unlike before, I can have over 5 to 6 people registering at once.

What can I do to tweak the system? I own my server and have access to all information.

nightbre:
Try setting the mail limit to one per minute and see if it helps by slowing them down a bit. It may also be to do with the server timing out when a lot are being sent at once so set the limit for that a bit higher in your server configuration say 60 seconds if its on default 30 for instance. If the server can send mail sometimes then I think its just a server config issue of some sort causing this for you.
