SMF Support > Install and Upgrade Help

Ok, installed, running, administered...dead. NOW OK!! :)

(1/1)

Memetic:
I installed to : hxxp:www.chafford-hundred.co.uk/forum/index.php [nonactive]

Got the board up and running, posted a welcome post etc.  No problems.

Set up various options through admin,  no problems apart from a few file not found errors which cleared upon going back an following links again.

Having exited Admin, I now cannot get the site to load.

The server is running (See hxxp:www.chafford-hundred.co.uk [nonactive] static holding page) and Yabbse sites onthe same MySQL DB are still running.

Any suggestions to what has happened and how to fix it?  Server is a Cobalt RAQ4.

Thanks in anticipation.

Memetic.

Added info :

The forum part of the site does load but very very slowly.

The server is now alerting about CPU load.

ps -aux gives:

[Unknown]:
What options did you change in the administration?

Does it help if you put that board in maintenance mode (edit Settings.php and make $maintenace = 2;) and install a new one in another folder - does that run slowly?

Are you on Apache 1 or 2?

Memetic:
It's lookingh ok now.  I talked to support at the hosting  co. and decided inthe end just to kill off all the httpd and httpd.a processes - some had been up for 23 hours! i.e. Way before I installed the board.

It just seemed to be a bit to conicedental to get a big slow down around the time of new software.  Next time i'll take the servers "pulse" before and after the install.

If I get anymore trouble with it i'll come back to your suggestions.  And as for waht I changed - can't remember I was in the office dong the set up between calls - so much for a lunch break!
