Posting notification to members

We are having a problem that members never come back to check for new post.

We would like it, when a member post on the forum, every member gets an email of the posted question, With a link to post. This would notify members of the new post & those with answers will go to site & post an answer. It only needs to be the original post but it can be replies also. members should be able to opt out with controls on their profile page.

It should be like Facebook notification that someone posted. But we would like all members to get original post, so post can be answered ASAP. At the moment, members forget to come to site and questions will go months before someone answers. We just want reminders to come to site and notifications of postings.

you can read the reasons why it would be very unusual that this will become a "core" feature.
