Strange Characters When Viewing Topics

Hi

From the homepage when I click on any topic and then click on that topic, I get a white screen with some strange characters displayed before the page loads, I have uploaded a screenshot showing exactly what happens:

Anyone have any ideas why and how to fix it?

Have a look inside your theme's index.template.php file, near the function template_html_above, for anything unusual

I have looked inside index.template.php and there is nothing like that there, this is what I have:

// Show right to left and the character set for ease of translating.
echo '<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

I also looked in the default index.template.php file and it's exactly the same as the above.

Well, I'm stumped.

I'm lurking around, on your forum, viewing topics in all sorts of places, as I type, and I'm just not seeing that, anywhere.
