(1/1)

iraqcyber:
Hello every one ..
i'm little confused and wish you kindly help please .. i just wish to give permissions exactly as below :

1- Guest = Can read only in any section in forum.
2- Registered Members and others can:
    *  Reply only in some sections
    * Write new thread in some sections.
3- Moderators = can read and reply any where in forum and able to moderate just specific sections.

how can i do this please ?
i tried to modify every section but no success

Thanks

1. Tick the guests when you create a board in the website, Open permissions link in the admin panel, and make it that they can read threats.

2. Tick the registered users in the boards, and in permissions set them to read their topic, other and reply to their own and other.

3. The pre-made moderator group is made to accomplish that part. Use that group and modify the permissions accordingly, add the person for moderating while you create the board, and then he will be the moderator for that section.

Hello again ...

1. Go to Admin > Permissions and click no the Modify link for Guests. Then enable/disable whatever you need there. In your case, just make sure they don't have permission to post/reply.

2. Similar to the above....but first go to Admin > Boards and then for the boards you want to have this restriction on, click on permissions link. Now edit all the membergroups there accordingly...it will have a bunch of options for you to change including starting topics and replying to them (you can enable/disable as you see fit).

3. See # 2 above. Just do the same thing but look for Moderator.

I highly recommend that you take some time to look over the SMF Online Manual as a lot of this stuff is already covered in there.
