"incorrect password" when it's correct?

hello, ive just encountered a problem where I enter in my password correctly, and it still says it's incorrect? I tried resetting it, didn't work.

any ideas?

I had that issue earlier, this is my first time on SMF, and it seems like system is plagued by this quite often.
I used the repair_settings.php file (separate from install pack, it's somewhere on this forum) which got me on the right track so I could reset my password in Google Chrome (firefox didn't work). From there I used a password this time without symbols. And that fixed the login issue for me. You can still have a strong password without symbols. Online brute force attacks can be stopped easily so it's not a big security issue to not use symbols so long as you're over 18 characters and registers as strong.

I still have an issue with logging out now though, hopefully you wont have that problem.
