"Remember me" doesn't for firefox and chrome?

Hello all,

I've recently set up a forum (2.0.2) and am getting reports that the "remember me" functionality at login isn't actually remembering users and they're getting logged out every time they leave the forums.

I've done some testing by logging in, selecting "forever" when logging in and then visiting another site in the same window/tab before returning to the forums. In IE9 this works as expected and I am still logged in, however in Firefox and Chrome (latest downloads) I'm logged out.

The forums here at simplemachines.org are remembering my details in for Firefox and Chrome though, so I suspect it's a setup issue - however I'm not sure where to start looking.

One assumes that you've checked those browser's cookie settings?

Yep, all three browsers look to have the same cookie settings.

Have you tried emptying the cache?

I don't use either browser, so I'm fishing, here...

I seem to remember that Firefox is pretty awful with cookie-handling.

Just tried emptying the caches. It now seems to be working in Firefox, I can log in with my test user set to remember me "forever", visit another site and return and still be logged in!

I'll pass it on and see if it works for the others, thanks. :)
