With that mod, it might just work, if you install it under emulation. (Click the "Advanced" tab, when you install, for that option).

There is no reason why you can't use fake email address during registration of your fake members.

user1@mywebsite.com
user2@mywebsite.com
user3@mywebsite.com

You may want to set registration for new members to 'Immediate Registration' first or simply manually approve them after they are registered.

I will enable sign up without email confirmation, create users and then disable, in the same day.
