Attachment Limits

(1/1)

ctr:
I am running stock 2.0.2 with no modifications.
It is on a dedicated server and there are no limits to the upload size on the server, I've been able to upload documents over 200MB in other sections of the site.
For my Attachment Settings I have all of the limits set to 0.
I am the admin for the forum, so I shouldn't have any limits anyhow.

I tried to make a post and upload an 8MB PDF.  It failed.  I didn't get an error and it went to Start new topic.  It didn't post the text I posted or upload the attachment.  I repeated this process several times and each time it failed.

I reduced the file size to about 1.5MB and it worked.

Any idea why I was limited to the size of the attachment?

If you have access to php.ini then amend the value in "upload_max_filesize"

Or have you already set that ?

I am very sorry for not replying, my spam must have grabbed the email.
I have access and just edited it.  It was set to 8M, so that would explain the prior issue.
I changed it to 50M, but got the same issue.  Do I need to restart the server for it to take effect?

Hi there, I'm also experiencing the same problems on size attachment restrictions - limited to a 2MB ceiling. I'm using bluehost as server and I don't see any ini.php in the root or in the attachments folder. Is there another solution?

Thanks.

Yep, restart apache assuming thats your webserver.

Its php.ini   not   ini.php

No it's not situated in root or in SMF. Without going into detail it's part of the configuration files that only your host can access.

You'll need to raise a ticket and ask your host if they will amend it.
