I agree that content is the most important thing in the long run, but a generic default theme isn't very interesting, and doesn't do anything to create a strong impression with visitors and new members. It takes time to develop good content, and good graphic design that holds people's attention should help on a specialty forum such as this that's getting off to a slow start.

Now the images and css are showing up for me but you still have two domains that host the same forum. Strange though how the images and css point to the wrong area after changing those settings. :-\
What type of configuration you running?
Old Fossil:
changing the theme and the addition of a banner (logo) would be a slight improvement).
