Weird strings of code at top of forum for pkg and theme installs
Kermit:
Those strings should be added there, but as we see they are not here and they have been added somewhere else,i can't say to which file they were added, you need to search all your site files, you can use File Seeker for searching
akateisakate:
Thanks, working on it. Any Mac alternatives to File Seeker anyone can recommend? I've been searching around and playing with some, iSeek doesn't work very well, looking for personal recommendations?
MrPhil:
I use "grep" all the time to search for patterns, not just fixed strings. As it comes from the Unix world, there is probably a version for OS X. Note that like all good tools, it is command-line. Perhaps there's a GUI version?
akateisakate:
OK, I'm tackling the Exif problem, because I've finally been able to get to a PC for Fileseeker. "Exif" Was found on a few jpeg files, and a PSD of the new theme's default banner, which I don't use. Also, in many files in the attachment folder. These attachments don't actually have a file extension. So, "exif" did not come up in any PHP files. Should it have, presumably?
I haven't removed anything yet as I'm backing up the database now.
MrPhil:
Did you find the misplaced KeyCAPTCHA code and move it (or move the <?php or ?>)? Is that issue solved?
You would expect to find "Exif" in JPEG files (including JPEG images in avatars and attachments, which get new, extension-less names). So, if it didn't show up in any .php files, it doesn't sound like a mod installation read a JPEG file into a .php file. That would be messy. As this is during theme install, perhaps one of the new theme's files is a misnamed .jpeg file? I'm afraid you'll have to do some sleuthing.
