How to translate custom profile fields?
(1/1)
taised:
Hello all,
I'm currently running a SMF v2.0.2 and I'd like to use the possibility to create Custom Profile fields to my forum. My problem is that the forum is in more than one language: how can I translate those added fields in several languages? I've searched for an answer but didn't find it.
I should be able to put a name and a description for each language.
Thanks in advance for any answer.

Hi, welcome to SMF! :) As far as I know, that's not possible without code edits, but you might want to submit a mod request instead. :)

Ah, that's a shame. This problem makes the whole feature of Custom Fields useless in my case.
I've digged a bit into the code and I've seen that the profile is displayed in several places, but where is it loaded? In other words: if I'd like to make my own translation of those custom fields, what files should I look for?
And another question about a thing I've just noticed: I've disabled some fields in the profile, like ICQ and so on. They're correctly not displayed in the profile nor can be modified, but they still appear in the buddy/ignore list. Is this some sort of a bug... or what?
Thanks again.
