Regular members can only modify their most recent post
krom_stormbrow:
Hi Guys... Hope you can help.
I've been using 2.04 as my working forum for awhile now (Going great by the way, bar 1 or 2 bugs - splitting topics but that's another story).
I have had a permissions issue come up. It's to do with regular members and the ability to edit their own posts. The majority of members on the forum have an elevated permissions base as we run the shop a little different to the usual forum heirarchy.
Now we have a few more "regular" members and this has just come up.
When the make a post, start a thread.... what ever they do, they can only modify their most recent post. So if someone posts after them they can't go back to update say the original post to incorporate any amendments.
I have attached my permissions report and I can set up a test account should you need to test these features. The forum is here
http://www.minus1mod.com/smf/index.php
Should you come and make some tests.

As far as I know, smf doesn't have this functionality.
Could it by any chance have been added through a mod.
When I saw this topic on the list, I thought its actually a good mod request. So I'm a bit dumbstruck as to how this is happening on your forum?
krom_stormbrow:
Thanks for the reply. I have actually solved the issue. I think a mod may have caused the problem.
I basically stripped the permissions and started again and re-set everyone.
They can't edit posts before I made the fix... but since then they can.
krom_stormbrow:
Ok, guys the error has re-occured! The site is at: www.minus1mod.com/smf/index.php
I suppose this could be a mod causing a problem, here's the list of mods:

SHould you wish to help with testing I can set up a test account for you. I also saw something about smf_info.php, but I can't find the file in the download section. Could this help us solve the problem?
Thanks for any help.

i've never seen this happen.. i would need a test account that has this problem occuring to check on it. it may even simply be a theme issue, and it may be a permission issue.
Might you have another group that is denying permission to edit posts?
