Install help (another GoDaddy sucker)

nend:
Nothing wrong @ GoDaddy, maybe server speed. :P In all not bad for the price though.

I currently have 2 SMF 2.0.x, 1 SMF 1.1.x and 2 SMF 2.1.x forums hosted by them on their shared gird hosting package.

Something had to go bad with the install.  ;)

If you installed yourself then note the database name and username is the same. Also the database server is not localhost, you must get this after the database is set up from the control panel.

Mike_GoDaddy:
@nend:  Go Daddy does not use localhost as the database host name.  The correct host name can be found in the Hosting Control Center:

To Find the Host Name for Your Database

1. Log in to your Account Manager.
2. Click Web Hosting.
3. Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Launch.
4. In the Databases section of the Hosting Control Center, click MySQL or MSSQL depending on the database type for which you want the host name.
5. From your list of databases, click Edit next to the database you want to use.

Your database host name displays in the Host Name field.

Would you mind verifying that?

Mike_GoDaddy:
How would you like to verify this?

cicka:
Nothing against Mike_GoDaddy but personally I would never give any kind of access to my forum/server to anyone in the forums that claims that he or she works for my host. I would go through the proper route by using the official contact form that my host has in place.
