Read Only forum with Permissions

I've done some searching, and found topics on this subject, but none answered my particular problem.

I want to make a board, read only by everybody except 1 membergroup. I've tried to deny post new topics, post new polls and replying for all membergroups except the membergroup I want to retain the ability, but of course that won't work because they are still listed under one of the Post Based Groups.

Ideas?
