Take away the ability to change profile picture

is there anyway i can take away the permission to change your profile picture and set custom profile images and it changes everytime they hit a certain post count?

take the permission away from everyone accept Admins and Moderators that is

On the face of it, I'd have to say no, because munging avatars is hard work at the code level. However, with a bit of thinking outside the box, and a few conditions, it could be possible.

See, what I'm thinking of is to use the post count groups' badges (normally the little yellow blocks under the post count group, like under your 'Semi-Newbie' here), changing the image for that, and setting the number to be displayed to 1.

That would make it run off post counts, after that you could just disable avatar access through the permissions area.

Lastly, you'd have to fix it so the post count images didn't show up for admins, and there's a setting in Admin > Current Theme entitled 'hide images for grouped members' or something like that, so where a user has a primary group (like admin), it will show that and nothing else.

Of course that means if you have a primary group on a user, it won't show the post count image... but that may be enough depending on what you're trying to do.

*shrug* If it's important to you, it's doable without any code changes subject to the provisions above. If however you don't want it quite like that it'll require some fairly interesting code changes.

well,i tried actually changed the post count icons -yellow squares- to the icon that i attatched to this post and it doesnt appear on the users profile or post :l any ideas on how to get that to show?
