I want to upgrade my site

I want to upgrade my site from 1.1.16 to the latest version. I have an illness now that I didn't have a few years ago and I find myself having trouble staying with the process as I have done it so few times that I am no longer used to it. I am asking for no sympathy and I expect none. Just asking for help to keep me straight while I get this done. I would appreciate a PM so I don't have to lay this out on the general forum as this really has no relevance to anyones experience. Just to my capabilities at this time of treatment and tests.

The reason I am here is the forum has worked well but my Mods are being bombarded by spammers with the 1.1.16 vs. I can handle it but it is more than the mods have time for. PM me with any suggestions.

Basically, it's this:

BACKUP!!!
Download Large Upgrade. http://download.simplemachines.org/index.php?thanks;filename=smf_2-0-2_upgrade.zip
Dearchive on your hard disk.
Upload files to your site, overwriting what's there.
Navigate to your forum, with your browser, substituting "index.php" with "upgrade.php".
Follow on-screen instructions.
Done. :)

If you think that doing that might be beyond your capabilities, now, you have two ways to go, from where I'm seeing things.

You can either take out a charter membership, here, which will give you access to team people, who will undertake the task, for you. (It's $50, if I remember rightly).

Or, you can post in the "Help wanted" board (We can move this topic, there, if you like) and see what offers you get. (Say whether you'd prefer "[FREE]", or "[PAID])

I'd offer to do it, myself, for free. But, I have a seriously busy weekend and most of next week's going to be heavy, too. :(
