Trekkie101:
Can anybody help, I'm looking for a new compact little digital camera.

I don't want to spend more than £100/$155/€127 because it'll not be in frequent use nor do I need a DSLR (Not that I could afford lenses!), I know nothing about cameras or brands of them. I like it being small!

My normal use:
Dark shots
Buildings/Fireworks behind them
Mid sort of distance (200m max)

I don't usually look at details or people or ants or things like that. As I said itll be dark so it doesn't need to be mega crisp but would be good if the colours stood out and didn't give that pixel look. My best camera is my iPhone :P

Trekkie101:
Ps. I like the Nikon advert :P

ApplianceJunk:
I have had a number of digital cameras over the last 15 years.
Seems I get a new one every year or two. Have had many types of cameras, DSLR's, compacts, gps enabled, go pros, etc...
One brand that I always thought produced the sharpest photos is Sony.
None of my current cameras are Sonys right now, but I always have been happy very happy with the sonys cameras I have had in the past.
I'm no pro, just like to snap a lot of photos.

Arantor:
I'm extremely happy with the Canon PowerShot SX150 that I bought a few months ago, it's a shade over your target budget but it looks like it will last me a long ol' while and I find its sensor is very good at capturing detail without a lot of noise :)

CoreISP:
Get a new phone with a decent camera
