Static Pages in SMF?

What would I need to do in order to make a static page in the forum.
I want a blank page that the rest of the forum info would be around, such as a basic informational page, or something like that.

I would really like to stay away from doing basic SSIs, but if that's necessary...  ::)

You could make a new .php file, and include the functions from index.template.php,
then just add a new link on your menu, leading to your page.

How would that be done, exactly?
