SMF feature request: Follow friends!

Hi,
I've been an SMF user for more than 5 years. My forum has grown and now it has 20.000 users. Of course around 1.000 active.

In my experience, I think SMF is the best forum I've used but I think that it would be nice to have some "social features" today really common:

-The ability to follow people threads and posts
-enhanced notification system (friends posts, new posts, replies)
-default post rating
-simple new look asap to make it more friendly (SMF is great but the look is always a key point)

I looked for mods to make the "follow people's threads" and I could find none. Today I'm using SMF along with Joomla to provide the more "social" side.

The ability to follow threads, would mean to "subscribe" to them, and be notified about it on the forum, in a particular view? As it stands, the notifications are purely notifications by email, and a view in the profile allows to take a look at the current set.

No, we want follow a friend, ex: When my friend have new post, smf will notify me
