IRC isn't on the web directly. However the VERY FIRST POST has a link you could try.

Just don't expect support there, people have been kicked out of the chat for requesting support when they've been asked not to ask for it; it's for being sociable, not for support generally.

For some reason I can't connect any more. Seems to happen whenever my net drops and I try to reconnect. Also this topic was far to difficult to find (refreshed page until it came up in the random news, which was a lot of refreshes since it is... random!).

Depends on what you want to ask really, but in short

1) Find the appropriate board
 ( For example Install and Upgrade Help, SMF 1.x Support or SMF 2.x Support )
2) Preferably start a new topic, to avoid confusion and to make it easier for us to follow up on support requests.
3) Try to follow the guidelines laid out in READ FIRST: How to help us help you

It gives some wierd security warnings for java then it gives a notice (unable to load interface pixx.....) in the middle of the page. I couldnt get in.

Why dont you integrate this into simplemachines.org ?

It requires ridiculous resources when ran through the browser. It is also not a support option.

I did without success.  Another forum has this feature, went thru that tutorial, and now I'm IRC capable. The challenge now is finding anybody on that channel at the other end. ;)
