Installing New Theme, Will Not Upload
(1/1)
chadf:
I downloaded this theme.
http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=2585
When I go to upload I get this error message:
Package upload failed due to the following error:
"Although the package was downloaded to the server it appears to be empty. Please check the Packages directory, and the "temp" sub-directory are both writable. If you continue to experience this problem you should try extracting the package on your PC and uploading the extracted files into a subdirectory in your Packages directory and try again. For example, if the package was called shout.tar.gz you should:
1) Download the package to your local PC and extract it into files.
2) Using an FTP client create a new directory in your "Packages" folder, in this example you may call it "shout".
3) Upload all the files from the extracted package to this directory.
4) Go back to the package manager browse page and the package will be automatically found by SMF."
What should I do?

What is says you should do....:)
It sounds to me like you're attempting to install a theme using the Package Manager, but I may be wrong.
Modifications are installed using the Package Manager. For themes, see: http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/How_do_I_install_a_theme

Yup you are right. I was using the package manager. It worked through the theme install area.
I got the theme to install, now how do I change the big BALANCED wording at the top to my site name?
N3RVE:
I'm sorry, but the nature of your request falls outside the scope of general SMF support I am able to provide.
I suggest you request assistance here as that's part of the theme's design. It's an image located at \balanced\images\theme\ inside the package. It will need to be re-generated with the wording you require. Theme authors are known to include the original .psd (or other editable image file(s) for the end-user), you can ask for this in the topic I linked to.
If you require no further assistance here, please indicate by marking the topic as sorted.
