Upgrading from 1.1.16 to 2.0 fails with unknown error
(1/1)
testaholic:
I have read all the topics and how others solved this issue but none of it seems to work. The error appears immediately after starting the upgrade, at "upgrading index tables" and it does not provide any kind of detail. I have read someone's thread that had EXACTLY the same issue and said that in his case was solved by making all files writable.
If I make all folders and files CHMOD 777 then I get a different error
"The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@fabulous-chicas.ro and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."
This error I have experienced in the past and solved it by deleting Wordpress htaccess, setting all folders to 755 and files to 644 except for install.php files that was set to 755.
Needless to say the trick is not working in the case of this upgrade I am trying to perform now.
So please can I get any suggestions?

There is a error log on your server, it should be accessible by FTP'ing ont your hosting and it in the direcotry of your site, if you can post any error messages that exist in it it will give us more information, if you can't find it you'll need to contact you host as to where the error logs exist.
