Pretty URL is not generating 404 error causing duplicate contents

No one faced this problem while using PRETTY URL !!!! Strange.....
Any help !!!! Need it badly..... :'(

I don't think there will be a fix now that i think about it. since actions can be anything and there can be any category/topic name so no way to easily check

how to update topics and board urls to new urls since i've changed from smf directory, all urls are pointing to old test forum url with pretty urls enabled
