RSS + Google Reader with password

Hi everyone,

I have a question. Am I be able to read my feed via the Google Reader, if my forum will be password log-in ONLY.

I mean am I be able add subscriptions like this:


hxxp:login:pass@site.com/index.php?rss [nonactive]

SMF does not accept logins in that fashion, partly because it's not how SMF works and mostly because it's inherently insecure (because you're sending your password unencrypted every single time it looks for new posts, which is typically every few minutes)

The advice is to not change SMF, doing it the way you're suggesting makes it fundamentally insecure.
