Standard SMF Footer Text

Hi,

I'm creating a forum that will have a custom layout, themes, images and logos (very minimalistic).
I'm wanting to amend the footer text and need advice as to whether it is acceptable.

The current footer is:
SMF 2.0.2 | SMF © 2011, Simple Machines
XHTML RSS WAP2

I wish to change it to:
my-T3 © 2012
powered by Simple Machines

Is this OK?

Old Fossil:

--- Quote ---SMF 2.0.2 | SMF © 2011, Simple Machines
--- End quote ---

This part of the Copyright is not to be removed.

Note if you do so then support can be refused.

I don't know about the legal info but I'd leave the rss link or put somewhere else on the forum.

I'm concerned primarily with the page attributing copyright to Simple Machines with the footer in its current form. Simple Machines can by all means maintain its rights to the code, but the content and other aspects are difficult for site owners to protect in it's current form without adding a legal page (which I'm trying avoid).

I appreciate this is open source and credit should be acknowledged to Simple Machines, but a site owner can not claim any rights to ownership or copyright of content/design (not SMF code). Hence why I was hoping it could be changed to my proposed.

I hope this explains my request a little better...

Why not use something like:

SMF 2.0.2 | SMF © 2011, Simple Machines
XHTML RSS WAP2
Content © my-T3 2012

That'll cover everything, wouldn't it?
