SQL problem (again)
nosferatu:
I've emailed the sql file as requested. I'm incredibly indebted for this offer.
Many thanks
Oldiesmann:
Two things. First, try removing all the lines with the # in front of them. I ran into something once where it thought those were MySQL queries and not comments. Second, you need to have a nice chat with your host:
--- Quote ---# phpMyAdmin MySQL-Dump
# version 2.2.0rc3
# http://phpwizard.net/phpMyAdmin/
# http://phpmyadmin.sourceforge.net/ (download page)
#
# Host: localhost
# Generation Time: April 21, 2004, 11:32 am
# Server version: 3.23.58
# PHP Version: 4.1.2
# Database : trafficcom
# --------------------------------------------------------
--- End quote ---
Everything is way out of date.
phpMyAdmin is at version 2.56 (not sure when 2.20 came out)
php is at version 4.3.6 (4.1.0 was realeased in late 2001)
mySQL is at 4.0.18 (3.23.58 was released in early 2001)
Your host barely meets the minimum requirements for SMF. SMF will work, but I'm not sure how well it will work. Tell your host to upgrade their servers! :)
nosferatu:
I'll ask. Thanks again for your time and effort.
nosferatu:
I've just tried again to upload the sql file and phpmyadmin 2.5.6 states' No query'. Does anyone know how I can correct this?
Many thanks
Oldiesmann:
I have no idea what to tell you. Lycos UK is being a pain today (I can't get to cpanel on this computer - most likely something Norton's blocking). After numerous 404 errors trying to login, I was finally able to get in... I tried splitting it into 3 SQL files and kept getting "Action Cancelled". I cut and pasted one query from the file to the little box in phpMyAdmin, including comments, and it worked fine. Don't know why it won't work for you.
