SQL problem (again)
Oldiesmann:
He means do you have shell access. If you don't know, check with your host. SSH refers to SSH Tectia Client (formerly SSH Secure Shell), a nice program that lets you create a secure connection to a Unix or Linux computer regardless of where you're connecting from, and execute shell commands (hard to explain, but basically, the shell is sorta like the Windows command prompt thing, except it lets you do a lot more). More information on SSH Tectia client available at http://www.ssh.com

Thanks for that. I've now reloaded yabbse 1.5.5. I uploaded the db and renamed it yse155.sql. The only thing missing from the online db now is the actual messages. The different boards are there and the members list is there. Is there some way I can now show the messages. By messages I mean the topics as opposed to IM's etc.
Thanks
Oldiesmann:
You will need to restore the contents of several tables from that dump you did. There are several tables that deal with messages: yabbse_boards, yabbse_topics, yabbse_posts, yabbse_log_messages and maybe a few others.

Thanks Oldiesmann. My intention is to get the db up and working and then upgrade to smf. How can I go about restoring the db from the sql file (which appears to be there in full). phpmyadmin says that it cannot read the file. Is there some reason for that. If the transfer limit is reached how do I increase the limit. The db is just over 2 mb.
Thanks for your help.
Oldiesmann:
Email me a copy of that SQL file and let me look at it. If there's something wrong with it, I can fix it so phpMyAdmin can read it.
