Replace the karma system with a like system...

What do you all think about the Karma system being replaced by a like system or at least a like system being added to the software by default? I mean a like system is more modern and unique I think. Most forums are installing like modifications and I think it would be great to have the system by default. To be able to like topics, replies, polls and heck be even more unique and give the ability to like profiles even.

I believe there are mods for this already.

One of the forks of SMF is working on this. Their like system attaches the "likes" to specific posts. So you can see all the most-liked posts, and the authors with the most "likes". The like system puts the emphasis on the content, rather than on the content provider.

This makes it somewhat different from Karma.

It would be great to have such a like system and I would love to have "Like based" member groups too.
"Like based" member groups, similar to "Post based" member groups.
