[4997] Our textarea resize bar doesn't like Opera.

(1/1)

Antechinus:
Don't blame it. I'm not a fan of the bel canto style, and the costumes get really silly. Anyway...............................

Re: Text area resizer doesnt work in Opera 12

Confirmed. I assume we are dropping the js from 2.1 anyway, since SCE comes with resize for dumb browsers built in. This is more a reminder to clean out the code, before everyone forgets. :P

In the meantime hiding the dead 2.0 bar with CSS works well for anyone not on IE. The bar still works on IE9. Haven't tested on 8 or earlier.

I (think I) fixed that when working on the editor a while ago (before switching).

The problem with IE9 could be the usual non-recognition of IE9 as IE:

ETA: yes, the new editor has its own resizer (even though is broken at the moment because probably I removed some css that I should not have removed... :P)

Antechinus:
No, IE9 is fine. Works perfectly. It's only Opera that is borked. That's why I pointed him at the Opera plugin, and told him to hide the bar for non-IE browsers. I think that should be our recommendation for anyone who grumbles about it while they are waiting for 2.1.

Spuds:
And I'm pretty sure I fixed the IE detection stuff in 2.1 ....

Antechinus:
Good point. I actually tested IE on my 2.1 local site, not on a 2.0.2 site. Still updating IE detection in 2.0.2 isn't hard. Perhaps that should be part of the next 2.0.x patch.
