[FREE] IP Banning/Banning IP Mod

<< < (3/3)

Arantor:
Are these bans recently triggered? If not, don't bother using them. Dynamic IP addresses mean this changes over time and in all the cases I've seen, bans get triggered a few times and generally don't get triggered much thereafter.

Yes and No. and Yes they do get changed and I have to ban that IP Address too. I try and ban a range and it only means they will sooner or later connect on a new IP Address any way. The idea is to keep them out.

Arantor:
Here's the thing... if the bans aren't being hit any more, don't bother implementing that ban. There's no point building a wall when it isn't going to be hit.

Seriously, I think you're actually asking for more trouble with trying to have all these bans, not least the performance problems that go with having a lot of bans in place (and with IPv6 it's going to get a LOT worse)

bigjoe11a:
I would still like to have the option added or in a mod.

Arantor:
Even though it won't solve your problem and make your forum slower...

Good luck with that.
